Whats been happening since ATN 08

Since October 2008 when we launched the first ATN in the city of Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, God has been moving mightily in the lives of many people and churches in the city of Bundaberg. Many individuals are opening up for God and many congregations are experiencing numerical growth. Several churches have started two worship services on Sunday. Our Regional Council have now established a very strong working relationship with the Bundaberg City House of Prayer. This is an exciting movement God is birthing in this region which have been known as 'The Great Southland of the Holy Spirit.' This year's destination!

The greatest GOODNEWS this year 2009 is that our second 'Awakening the Nations' international event will be held in the beautiful city of Port Villa, in the leader nation of Vanuatu, where the proclamation of the 'Great Southland of the Holy Spirit' was made some 404 years ago. The dates will be 18-25 October and the venue will be the beautiful Scripture Union Campsite at Pongo.
This event will be hosted by Vanuatu Christian Council and the Minister Fraternal Association of Port Villa. The Lord Mayor of Port Villa City Council has given his full support and wholeheartedly welcome this opportunity for the people of the city of Port Villa to be blessed of God and the international participants. This year's theme is; KINGDOM LEADERSHIP FOR CHURCH, GOVERNMENT & NATION. We believe that this year's event will be the biggest Christian International Event ever held in the nation of Vanuatu. Delegates will be flying in from the nations like, Australia, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and who knows the surprises that our great God will bless us with.

VANUATU OUR HOST NATION FOR AWAKENING THE NATIONS 2009 is unique in its natural, scenic and historical heritage. The 'Y-shaped chain of islands is covered with green tropical forests and fertile soil, while on the shores, sandy beaches are washed by the clean waters of the Great Pacific Ocean. With its carefree lifestyle, multi-cultural heritage, natural wonders and excellent tourist facilities, Vanuatu is able to fulfill your holiday expectations. Why not taking the time off your busy life and be part of an exciting, historical, international event such as 'Awakening the Nations' and a well earned holiday ? An update on Awakening The Nations

Steve Forman and I have just returned from a very successful mission to Honiara, in the Solomon Islands and Port Villa in Vanuatu. We had meetings in Port Villa with the Lord Mayor of the city, Councilor Paul Avoc Hungai, speaking at the Apostolic Annual Youth Convention, sharing at the Annual Leadership Conference of the Churches of Christ in Vanuatu and meeting with the Chairman (Pastor Hosea Bani), Secretary General (Pastor Shem Tema) of Vanuatu Christian Council and the President of Port Villa Ministers Association, Pastor Yuen Atnelo. The encouragement that we received from these Kingdom leaders gave us great confidence that the ATN in Port Villa this year is one that is already designed by God to happen.
At our meeting with these key leaders, we present to them a Bible to be used by the Organizing Committee for every meeting that they have. This Bible will be passed on to the Chairman of the ATN committee in the Solomon Islands for the next year's event. We also passed onto them a donation of V$180,000 from the BCHOP ATN committee to help them open up an account for this event in Vanuatu. While passing through Honiara to and from Port Villa, we also had several opportunity to share God's word several times in Kaibia local church where many have responded to the challenges given. We were also able to pray with the Honiara intercessors who prayed weekly for the ministry of Bundaberg City House of Prayer on Mondays. There were 60 people average involved in this Prayer ministry. We also met with key leaders of proposed ATN committee for Honiara, Solomon Islands for next year. They were so eager that they cannot wait to start their planning for their event next year, but also begin to facilitates the recruitment of the Solomon Islands delegation for Vanuatu this year in October.
The Bundaberg City House of Prayer have received several international invitations from the Philippines and Kenya in Africa for 2010 Awakening the Nations Crusade meetings. I am looking very seriously and positively into these international invitations for God's divine directions and provisions to answer these Macedonian calls. Remembering always that, 'Faith is the currency we trade with Heaven on God's Kingdom agendas.' These are very exciting days in the services of God's Kingdom. We stand together on this prophetic utterance that all the natives of all the lands as far as the Pole have a unique place and destiny in unity together!

Day of Pentecost, 14th May, 1606

Let the heavens, the earth, the waters with all their creatures, and those present, witness that I, Captain Pedro Ferdinand de Quiros...in the name of Jesus Christ... hoist this emblem of the holy cross on which His person was crucified and whereon He gave His life for the ransom and remedy of all the human race...on this day of Pentecost, 14th May....I take possession of all this part of the south as far as the pole in the name of Jesus...which from now on shall be called the southern land of the Holy Ghost...and this always and forever...and to the end that to all natives, in all the said lands, the holy and sacred evangel may be preached zealously and openly.

A message from Reverend Roy Funu

As you read this first update newsletter, I want you to know that as a Christian God is counting on you to simply be a light to the world and salt in your nation and beyond.

God is not only looking for trained and well equipped people but He is also looking for ordinary person like you and me so He can demonstrate His Mighty power through to the world. The world today have heard the gospel many times, now they want to see the power of the gospel flowing through ordinary, poor, unschooled men and women, boys and girls and children like You.
I encourage you to start praying for this new wave of movement called, 'Awakening the Nations' international event and be part of it this year in Vanuatu or next year in the Solomon Islands. Jump by faith into the current of God's movement and enjoy international :

• unique prayer sessions with believers from around the Pacific region,
• relevant bible teachings on Kingdom leadership for Church, Government, nation.
• carefree redeemed cultural expressions outreaches every lunch hour
• nightly powerful evangelistic outreaches featuring some of the powerful evangelists of the Pacific region.
• opportunities for building friendships and international missions partnerships.

Scripture For Our Day!

Finally, let me share with you a small and yet a very powerful scripture God has laid upon my heart about Awakening the Nations international event. The scripture is ; Psalms 2:7,8... “ He said to me, 'You are my Son, today I have become your Father. Ask of me, and I will give the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possessions.”
While the context of this scripture refers to Jesus' Kingly rule, the Bible also confirmed the church's kingship and priesthood our dual responsibilities. We are to ask our Father who is the LORD of the Nations to give us our nations so that we may rule them through our priesthood ministries of prayer and intercessions. Remember the nation of Egypt, while king Pharaoh was the ruler with power and authority, Joseph ruled the nation as a Prime Minister with God's wisdom. While politicians may be in power, the church of God can rule their nations through their prayers. So let us ask God for the nations under the declaration of the 'Great Southland of the Holy Spirit' as our inheritance. Church, it is my prayer for you that you ask God the Father for your nation as your inheritance. The House of Prayer intercessors will stand with you. God bless you.
